relevant operating systems should be entered, not just the "main" ones.
"Category Class" is a new field, which is part of the new PAD file specification. The drop down contains a very large list of possible categories. It is important to pick the most suitable category since many PAD enabled sites will use this field to automatically categorize your software.
In the "Cost (US$)" field, there is no need to
enter the $ symbol. If your software is freeware, you should
enter either "0" or "0.00". Some sites
may have issues with a blank field. You can leave the "Cost
(Other)" blank.
The text box next to the "Size (Bytes)" button should not be used as a "free form" entry field. By pressing on the "Size (Bytes)" button, this will activate an "Open" dialog box. Use the "Open" dialog box to find your downloadable program. Once you find it and press "Open", PADGen will calculate the proper file size information and fill in the text box as well as the size in kilobytes and megabytes which is hidden on the PADGen interface.
Even if your software is not restricted by a number of days, number of uses or a fixed date, any restrictions that set it apart from the full registered version should be placed in the Other Expire Info field. |
